An app to improve your lifestyle and prevent type 2 diabetes
Nujjer is an app that connects with Buddi's wristband to keep track of the user's activity, sleep and eating frequency, providing feedback through instant messages. This app enables users to increase their activity levels, decrease their weight and reduce their risk level of type 2 diabetes. I took part in the UX process, effectively combining functionality and usability, considering the wide spectrum of users (young and elder, savvy digital natives and non tech-literate users).
The app was designed for both Android and iOS. The first thing to do was to create a flexible but solid style that allowed the design to adapt to context, devices and screen sizes. A few design principles were set up to enable consistency and flexibility when creating new features, components or icons.
It was important to bare in mind that some users would interact with the app concerned about their health and lifestyle: the overall look&feel of the app should not be too patronising or cold. The main idea was to create an app that felt human, dynamic, inclusive, innovative and fun. All colours, fonts and iconography were created with these values in mind.
